The Department of History in Bhagwantrao Shivaji Patil Mahavidyalaya Paratwada was established in the year 1969 and affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. The department provides courses at undergraduate levels. The department of undergraduate course spread across Marathi language medium. The students of the department have also achieved success in competitive examinations for recruitment in state services / public sector enterprises.

The department has a student lead and run recurring “History Society” established for inculcating a sense of history-mindedness beyond the limits of curricular pedagogy. Students take initiative to organize many activities under the banner of this History Society.

Aims & Objective

• To enable students’ access to sound methods of historical research.
• To improve presentation capacities and academic writing skills through an applied, hands-on approach.
• To equip students with critical and analytical skills so that students develop well-reasoned historical arguments.
• To introduce students to the sources of doing history, i.e. the archive, the libraries, on-line sources etc.
